REPORT FROM MBUVI 5 February 2008
BOYS' PROGRAM AT EASTLEIGH
Greetings. During the start of the year, we had some Aggies visit us and they had planned

to do a day camp in Eastleigh with the young boys. They never got to do
that due to the political unrest which caused them to cut short their
stay. They left some T-shirts for the boys which we gave out yesterday
after their class. They were happy to receive and wear them. We
are thankful to all who help us in bringing the love of Christ near to
the street boys and girls.
YOUNG MOTHERS' AT EASTLEIGH

Catherine
and her child are the first to join our young mothers' program. Ann
took her for medical tests before bringing her in and she was fine. She
is 16 according to the age assessment which is always positive or
negative 1 year. At first she looked tired and bored but we hope as
other young mothers join she will get along well.
We had also taken in Elizabeth but she did not finish her first day
because she ran away. Ann says that Elizabeth felt bad that she was
pregnant with another child. Ann and the team there went to Liliput
base and they found her drunk and she did not want to go with them to
the centre. We were very discouraged especially because she did not
seem to take good care of herself and the baby. So far we have not
given up on her, and we will keep encouraging her hoping she will agree
to stay with us for the sake of her young children.
We thank all of you who have given to help us rescue lives of "children
with children". We also appreciate your prayers for us and the country
at large.
NEWS FROM KAMULU
Moses Kungu and Mary Wanjiku have started learning catering at the PCEA school. This

was their first day in school and they were excited about it. Nancy is
with us because at the Narcisse salon they have not had as many clients
lately. I talked to Nargis and she said when things get better, she
will accept some other girls from us. Omondi is doing well at
Tom's 4 Wheel Drive repair place, and he is staying in Eastleigh this
first month. Joel is working with Franci Cugia and Job Opeywa on their
plans when they reach 18. He says Opeywa wants to do electricals.

John is working on fencing the Mountain View property in the next few
weeks. I went there today with him, and he was telling me how the hole
diggers were charging him more because of the hard rocks. He still
thinks it will be done before the end of the month. The water project
and tree planting is complete and so far they are growing well. I have
also planted some trees on my plot. The fencing poles are not complete.
I will ask John to try and involve some students in learning how to
make them before he finishes making the final lot.
I will work with John on estimating costs for the shower and toilets for the building at the twenty acres and get to you.
Moses visited the neighbouring schools to see if they would use the
virtual library and what they would like to learn. He wrote some things
which I will send to you -- maybe you can download it and send a CD to
supply what he needs.
We love you and hope you have a lovely Valentine Day
