HOLIDAY TIMES AT MADE IN THE STREETS

Hi, It has been such a great and blessed time with all the parties and trips going on. Today I put the students gifts in thier pouches and laid them on a table. I then asked them to just hold the zipper and wait and when all had got theirs, I told them all to open. THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!!  This is all I could hear.
On Behalf of All the students and team, Thank you for the bonuses and gifts.

Street boys and youth were given a happy time at Christmas, for a soccer tournament was  organized where different bases competed with each other. 11 bases were represented each looking to out do the other. Larry and Hollye Conway brought some jerseys thus it was a real tournament. After 3 days of play, Jam street base emerged winners beating Rounda base with 3 goals to none. They received their trophies during the boys' Christmas party on Friday 21st.

It was a blessed day for all the mothers, their children & girls on the 18th of this month.  When we arrived they were already there; in fact, the hall of MITS Eastleigh Centre was packed.  We didn't have enough space to stand and talk to them.  Other mothers were seated outside the compound.  Although it was very sunny and hot, they were all happy and talking.  Larry and Hollye Conway had some pictures to show them as slides but it didn't happen as the cables were not correct, so we decided to start with the children by handing out new clothes.  The class had 38 children who constantly come to the programme and they are aged 2-6 years, so we took the first chance and told them as usual it's Christmas and it comes with a lot of good things.  It was very blessed to see how much they hang onto their new clothes showing each other although it was the same style except for the younger girls who got different style and colors.  Then we asked the mothers to come in groups of 10 and they too had 45 children ranging the same ages as those we had in one class and younger ones from 2 years and below, the youngest of all was 2 months old called Alice.  They came in groups of ten to get one blouse and a skirt; it was good that we had the help of team members Renee, Millie, Willy & two girls from Kamulu, Nancy & Mary Wanjiku and also Jane Wanjiru, a Church member.  The total number of mothers & girls was 140.  After that we served them with hot pilau and a new kind of dish that Augustina made esp for them called Biriani (it's rice with yellow color, beef and small peppers to taste), and also some beef stew which had some potatoes.  We also gave out Bibles to the committed mothers and girls who have shown improvement like stopping sniffing glue, coming to the programme Monday and Wednesday programme constantly and esp those who listen & answer the questions & have shown interest in the word of God.  Later we prayed as we closed the programme to start again in January 8th for mothers and 10th for girls.  They were all thankful.

We thank the Conways as they brought 2 people as helping hands to help Augustina cook and a man to help in carrying around heavy things.  And thanks to the donors for giving those mothers, children and girls something new for Christmas knowing that there are people who love, pray and care for them.

We had a very blessed Family Day.  Friends, relatives and families of most of the students attended. We started at 11 am with a tour of the premises. This was done by Irene Mbithe and Millicent Omondi who told the visitors all about what we do with the kids. Some of the parents could not hide their joy to see all that the children are exposed to while the parents do not have much access to any. After the tour they had an invitation speech from Francis Mbuvi then snacks, lunch, entertainment and a speech from Jackton. They also received a gift of wheat flour from the kids they visited. They were all so happy to have come and had a good day.  Some of the kids performed a dance for the parents and there were songs to entertain as well.

We believe all this was possible because of God and You too. For all your Love, Prayers and gifts and we are so very grateful.
