FRANCIS MBUVI REPORTS ON MINISTRY -- JANUARY 22, 2008
We are still on course to start the street mothers' Eastleigh boarding
program on the 1st of February. So far we have two girls with children
- one is 16 from Liliput Base named Wanjiru and the other is from town
and 17. Ann is still working on their documents. Tommorrow Joel and Ann
visit another slum in south B where they were told there are quite a
number of young mothers. Ann told me places like Mlango Kubwa Base had
become a no go zone because some guys whom they don't know have asked
them to bring money for them to visit. Also that Anthony and Kennedy
are both Luo doesn't help. So Ann tries to go alone but I told her she
had better be safe and stay away. The guys can visit other bases in
Eastleigh.
At Kamulu normal learning is in progress. I have had talks with almost
all the team about giving the best to the kids and so far good
response. Stephen Omondi said he was doing well in his
apprenticeship at Tom's 4 Wheel Drive place, and he said that he had
learned a lot at our Garage!!!! The only thing that bothered him was
that most of the people he is working with are smokers, and he said it
was a temptation for him. I asked him to resist it and remember all the
things that we taught him. I pray he remains strong. Halima is going to
PCEA (training school in hairdressing) and loving it there. Mary
Wanjiku is working on getting an ID and Joel will be sending her to
Eastleigh soon. Moses Kungu is also working on ID and Joel Plans that
he moves out at the end of the month.

Recently the MITS Team was invited to the Conways' home for a short retreat and renewal time.
The senior Team members spoke to encourage and strengthen the
whole Team. Here are 3 of the Team members in the Conways' back
yard.
