From Larry Conway in Eastleigh (Nairobi)
18 February 2008

Today in Eastleigh Bravin, Joel, Kennedy  and I made some visits to the bases to encourage and share the word with our friends there.  In the photo Joel is in the middle and he is sharing with the young men at the 4th street base.  He spoke of the importance of getting rid of bad habits and making the best efforts to change for the good this year.  I spoke about making the most of the time from Ephesians 5 and about the importance of avoiding evil from Proverbs 16.  Two of the young men from this base have gone for on the job training and we encouraged the others to do the same.   We later went to the Lilliput base and shared the word with them as well.  We also bought a plate of beans and a chapati (similar to a tortilla) for their lunch today. They loved it.
Eastleigh is a real challenge these days.  The roads are full of huge potholes which are commonly full of sewage and other filth.  There are constantly traffic jams on the roads.  The matatus (public transport vehicles) are driven very dangerously and incompetently.  Vehicles are driven in the wrong lanes and even on sidewalks at times.  It is very chaotic and lacks good leadership.    However, there are lots of street kids in Eastleigh so we gladly go to Eastleigh to do what we can to change their lives by sharing the gospel.
Thanks to all of you who make this ministry possible, we love you and thank God for you!
     Blessings,
     Larry and family
